Thoroughly Enjoyed - Memorable (FIVE STARS)

Format: Paperback

Really enjoyed this book about the Reed family and their stories of childhood, coming of age, military, war, and loss. Exceptionally well researched, the author clearly has a background in writing historical pieces that resonate with the action, and the emotion, of real human experience. Love and Sacrifice is memorable - one of those books that "stays" with you for quite a while. I've already recommended it to my WWI and WWII history buff friends.

and love, for people who serve our Nation today (FIVE STARS)

Really well written. Learned a ton of stuff about America and the 'old' Army between the World Wars. But by building the story around a family, it has light moments that help move the story. Still, there is an element of a Greek tragedy building...Not just a history book, it has lessons about family life, and love, for people who serve our Nation today. Strongly recommend.

Such a good read! A well-researched non-fiction historical narrative about the Reed family from Norton, Kansas, it has it all: love and romance, tragedy, honor, military maneuvers, and best of all, discovering a marvelous family. World War One and World War Two enthusiasts will especially enjoy!
